Iran Leader remarks
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution has dismissed as a lie US president’s claim that he is using force to achieve peace. Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei says US administrations have only used force for massacre of Palestinians in Gaza and waging wars across the region. The leader said power can indeed be used for peace and security and that is why Iran is adding to its power every day. Ayatollah Khamenei made the remarks during a meeting with teachers. He said some of the other things that the US president said during his recent visit to the region do not even merit a response and are so lowly that only disgrace Donald Trump himself and are a source of shame for the American nation.

The Israeli military presses ahead with it genocidal campaign in Gaza, killing more Palestinian civilians in its latest round of strikes. In one of the most recent attacks, at least two people were killed and several others injured after Israeli warplanes bombed residential areas in the southern city of Khan Younis. At least one person was also killed when Israeli forces shelled a tent housing displaced Palestinians inside Al-Aqsa Hospital in the central city of Deir al-Balah. A Palestinian child also died of injuries he sustained in an Israeli strike on Friday. The attacks come as the Israeli military announced launching extensive strikes inside Gaza and transferring forces to seize control of areas in the war-ravaged territory. Tel Aviv claims the strikes are aimed at releasing its captives and defeating Hamas. Over 53,100 Palestinians have been killed in the US-Israeli genocide since October 2023. More than 120,200 others have been injured.
US economic woes
The United States has lost its last perfect credit rating, as Moody's Investors Service announces a downgrade. The influential firm has lowered the US rating from “Triple A” to “Double A-One”, citing concerns over the government’s rising debt and political deadlock. The agency had maintained the country’s top-tier rating since 1919. Moody’s was the last of the three major rating agencies to maintain its highest rating for the US. Fitch as well as Standard-and-Poor’s had already downgraded their ratings in 2023 and 2011, respectively, over similar concerns. The move by Moody’s deals a direct blow to President Donald Trump's narrative of prosperity and economic strength. Experts warn that this downgrade could lead to higher borrowing costs and market volatility in the coming weeks.
