Plight of gaza children

The UN issues a stark warning about the humanitarian situation in Gaza, demanding an immediate halt to Israel’s indiscriminate attacks on the strip, where nearly a thousand children have been killed in just two months. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees, UNRWA, said Gaza’s children are enduring unimaginable suffering, facing starvation, displacement, and Israeli attacks. Meanwhile, Gaza’s Government Media Office says Israel is in effect controlling 77 percent of the Strip through continued genocide and ethnic cleansing. Israeli strikes have killed at least 22 Palestinians since early Sunday, including journalist Hassan Majdi Abu Warda and members of his family. The overall toll from Israel’s onslaught has now reached nearly 54,000.

Lebanon Resistance Day

Dismissing US threats

Iran’s foreign minister has reiterated that the Islamic republic will not sacrifice its people’s rights for a deal with the US.  Abbas Araghchi said Iran’s policy regarding the indirect talks with Wahington is clear and it is not influenced by pressure, threats or enticements. He also welcomed the establishment of a regional nuclear consortium which would undersee uranium enrichment, but added that enrichment on the country's soil must continue. On another note, he warned Europe against activating the snapback mechanism, which will reinstate UN sanctions against Iran. Araghchi said if the mechanism is activated, Iran will respond harshly. The snapback mechanism was introduced during the 2015 nuclear deal also known as the JCPOA in case Iran failed to comply with the accord. Tehran has repeatedly said Europe has failed to live up to its commitments after the US unilateral withdrawal from the deal.
