Starvation in Gaza
A UN special rapporteur warns that the Israeli blockade of humanitarian aid has pushed Gaza into the most dangerous stage of starvation, whose effects will last for generations. Michael Fakhri, the UN Special Reporter on the Right to Food, said the situation in Gaza constitutes genocide, deliberate starvation, a crime against humanity, and a grave violation of human rights. He emphasized that the situation in Gaza is constantly worsening, as it is witnessing a tangible and systematic escalation of violence by Israel. Fakhri asserted that Israel’s plan has always been to inflict the greatest possible damage and destruction, and the highest possible death toll. He added that the regime’s primary goal is to occupy and annex all of Gaza. The rapporteur said the limited number of aid trucks entering Gaza falls far short of meeting the population’s needs. Fakhri said Gaza is in urgent need of immediate and unrestricted entry of humanitarian aid convoys.
Gaza ceasefire efforts
The Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas, says the Gaza ceasefire deal proposed by the United States fails to meet the Palestinian people’s demands. The White House earlier said that Israel had already backed the new ceasefire plan, which was offered by President Donald Trump's special envoy, Steve Witkoff. Responding to the plan, the group’s political bureau member, Bassem Naim, says it essentially means the continuation of the Israeli aggression. He says the plan does not meet any of the Palestinian people’s demands, foremost among them halting the war and famine. Naim emphasized that the movement’s leadership is nonetheless studying the response to the proposal with full national responsibility. Reports say Hamas believes the new version contradicts the previous one, which included an American commitment regarding permanent ceasefire negotiations.
Yemen anti-Israel operations
The Yemeni armed forces have carried out another anti-Israel operation, targeting the regime’s Ben Gurion Airport in response to the ongoing aggression against Palestinians in Gaza. Saree reaffirmed that Yemen will continue to fulfill its religious, moral, and humanitarian duty toward the people of Palestine until the Israeli aggression ends and the siege of Gaza is lifted. He also pledged that Yemen’s Armed Forces will respond to any Israeli attacks on the country with retaliatory operations, including the continued ban on the regime's air traffic to and from Ben Gurion Airport. Yemen has imposed a strategic blockade on Israel’s vital air and sea routes to obstruct the delivery of military supplies to the regime over its genocidal war on Gaza.
