Iran's Armed Forces have expressed their full readiness to counter any "mischief and strategic miscalculation" by the country’s enemies at any time and level.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran made the assertion in a Wednesday statement on the occasion of the 36th passing anniversary of the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Imam Khomeini.
“The unparalleled role, miraculous leadership, and esteemed, history-making personality of Imam [Khomeini], as the greatest religious reformer and thinker of the century, established a divine system based on religious democracy and Islamic teachings and thoughts, which ridiculed the bipolar world order and the hollow power of global Western and Eastern arrogance, and brought forth a new power like the Islamic Revolution onto the international stage,” the statement said.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran underlined that the brave, insightful, and heroic nation of Iran will undoubtedly overcome all hardships, problems, pressures, and sanctions on its path towards conquering the peaks of honor through the guidance of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
“They will make the enemies rue their actions, as in the past, by steadfastly resisting the threats, conspiracies, mischief, wickedness, and crimes of the global hegemonic system, [as it treads] on the path of progress by flourishing and increasing power in various fields,” it added.
The statement stressed that “the potent, capable, brave, and heroic Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, which enjoyed exemplary readiness and power, stand ready to confront any mischief and strategic miscalculation by the enemy at any time and at any level of threat through reliance on Almighty God and under the wise and intelligent command” of the Leader, who is Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Armed Forces.
It also said that the Forces were the anchor of the brave Iranian nation and monitored the movements and actions of the enemies of the Islamic Revolution.
Iran and the United States have since April 12 held five rounds of talks on the Islamic Republic's peaceful nuclear program despite Washington's belligerent rhetoric, recurring sanctions and military threats.
Tel Aviv has also time and again threatened to strike Iran's nuclear facilities if the ongoing Tehran-Washington talks, mediated by the Sultanate of Oman, hit a dead end.
Last year, the Islamic Republic launched hundreds of missiles towards the Israeli-occupied territories as part of Operation True Promise l and II in response to the illegal regime's aggression on its embassy in Syria as well as assassinations of senior leaders of the Palestinian and Lebanese resistance and a senior commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC).
